It is fun to not know. It is scary too. But mostly fun.
Imagine waking up and not knowing what you will do today. Where you’ll go. Who you’ll meet. What thoughts you’ll think. What will make you smile or feel sad.
Imagine being in love with your wife and still not knowing what she will say when she walks into the room next. It’s like watching a movie unfold. You don’t control the next line of the actor. You only absorb. But your presence in the room is what makes the actor speak.
Imagine not knowing how you’ll make money next. But still knowing that you will. It’s like believing in God. It’s like trusting the air. You don’t see it. But you know it’s there.
I have lived the life of knowing. With calendars, schedules, OKRs, and meetings. And I have lived the life of not knowing.
One has speed. The other has grace.
One gives outcome. The other gives presence.
I want to live the life of not knowing.
